Love is in the air! I will be offering a Valentine's mini session this year! 1st time ever and I have some fun ideas! Be sure and dress your kiddos in red, white and/or pink! Details!
20 minute session
Sunday, February 5th
$75 investment and will include the session and an online gallery of the best images. From the gallery you can purchase the prints you like. I am also including a 5x7 for you! A disk of your images is available for an additional $20. Location will be revealed to you when you book. There will be a very limited number of appointments for this so contact me today! Maternity session at the beach

I absolutely love doing maternity sessions. The happy parents- to- be are always glowing and thrilled to meet their little one. It's a joyous time in their lives. I did this session with Terikay and Steve at Guana Beaches- it was a nice evening and we got some great shots! We even wrote little "K"'s name in the sand- so cute! Can't wait to meet her in January 2012!

This was a fun photo session- Mary was turning 5 and Jayson was just about to leave on a 6-month deployment. Perfect time to do a family session. Mary had the gorgeous cluster of balloons and I insisted we use them for the session- it was one of those props that I've always wanted to use in photographs. I LOVE how these turned out! Enjoy !

Mini sessions- make up day

I offered a make up day for mini sessions- a few of the families had sick kids, or were scheduled for a day when it rained (Sweet Shop mini session day). I always want to be sure all my clients are happy so of course I offered a rain date! I did these at the Lightner Museum and the Mission Grounds. Enjoy ! aren't these kids precious? Red always turns out so pretty in pictures! Love the personality of this family coming thru with their Cowboys gear!

Thanks to everyone that participated in the Sweet Shop mini sessions! The day started off great but the weather quickly became grey and rainy. We had to act fast and move to Plan B. It still turned out great! HUGE thanks to my friend and partner in all of this- Jenn from the Red Velvet Armadillo Bakeshop. She made all of the goodies as well as supplied the banner and some props. She is amazing!!! Couldn't have done it without her for sure. Hope everyone loves their sneak peek!

Sweet Shop mini sessions

November brings the BUSY season for most photographers. Families are starting to think about their holiday cards. It's a great time to host a mini session! This year, my friend Jenn (who is an inspirational muse for me when it comes to photography!) suggested doing a themed session. Most that know me, know that I'm a pretty simple girl with a simple style of photography, I don't have a ton of fancy props or any of that hoopla. However I was up for the idea! Bring on the challenge!

I did a fun family session with the "E" family in downtown Jacksonville. We tried a few new locations and I must say... I'm very happy with the results! They wanted a more urban feel to their photos and I think their color palette really set it off. Orange just gives such a POP to the photos don't ya think? Enjoy the pix! I wanted to share an updated family photo with ya'll! I had been eye-balling these gorgeous weeping willow trees near my home for quite some time. So I asked one of my bff's who is also my 2nd shooter & a great photographer to help a sista out and snap some photos of my family! It was a gorgeous evening with that glorious warm summer light coming through.... unfortunately our little man was under the weather. We still managed to capture a couple of cute shots. I tell ya- trying to get a decent photo of your toddler is so challenging! I think between age 18 months and 3 years old, its gonna be this way!

My co-worker Martha married her longtime sweetheart on a Friday afternoon in July. I was honored to photograph this special event. After the ceremony we did a romantic session at The Mission Grounds in St. Augustine. These 2 are so, so sweet. I wish them many more years of happiness together! Congrats!

Our dear friends from Ohio come to visit us each summer; while they are here, we take them to various places for some Florida fun. This year we took them to Ginnie Springs which was wonderful! And of course my hubby took them fishing several times. My hubby is quite the captain and they caught lots of fish, i.e. tarpon and red fish. They were thrilled! On the last evening of their trip, we took advantage of the glorious late summer light and did a session at St. Augustine beach. The beach was packed with tourists and locals just enjoying the beautiful night. I love how the pictures turned out. And I think they went home with a nice souvenir too :) Aren't their red-heads the cutest?? Fiesty, those 2.

Back to School sessions- recap

My 1st time doing a "themed" mini session was a hit! It was great weather- not too hot. The props came together and turned out cute and all of the kiddos were in great moods! I gotta give kudos to my parents for the antique globe and the old Dictionary and other books from my own childhood. It was a nice touch!

It's that time! When all the kiddies load up their crisp new backpacks and don their cool clothes and head off to school! Ahhh it brings back fond memories for me! The sadness that summer is over, but the anticipation of a new school year!
This year I'm offering 1-day of mini sessions, just for my school age kids. Date: Sunday, September 14
Time: beginning at 3:00 p.m.
Location: Will be given to you in a private email once you have booked with me. It's a shady, waterfront location in St. Augustine and I will have some cute "school themed props" if you want to include them in your session.
Price: $75 for a 20 minute session, it will include your images on a disk. To book your time slot: a $25 non-refundable deposit is due in advance.

In April and May, I was very busy with senior pics. I LOVE taking senior pics- the kids are always so excited and just glowing. It's a joyous and special time in their life. First up- Melvin. This guy is such a handsome stud. Its so typical of the guys to sort of tense up a little in the beginning, but he came around pretty quickly. He'll be heading off to USF in the fall. Next up- Courtney. This is my 2nd time photographing her. I did her family pics last year at the beach. She is one of my favorite subjects. So stunning with her radiant red hair. She did several outfit changes- and each one got better and better. Last but not least!.... Nece. She's a spicy one! Look at her face- gorgeous. She could be a model with that glowing "soft focus" skin! Both Courtney and Nece are great at poses. True naturals. You know how every group of girlfriends has the 1 friend that is crazy and free-spirited? Sort of a "Samantha Jones" from Sex and the City? hehe Well, my friend Teri is that chick. I never thought she would settle down. Well, on March 27, she did. Teri and Eric had a bright and cheery Sunday afternoon wedding, held at Stockton Park in Ortega. It was the kind of afternoon when you just KNOW the sky is going to open up and spoil the day. We were all getting kind of worried. Just as Teri started to walk down the aisle, out came the sun. It was so cool. These 2 are such lovebirds. They just oooze that saught after "ooey-gooey love". After the ceremony, the reception was held at "Friday Musicale". It was a fun afternoon and I'm incredibly happy for them!

Ashley + Daniel

On March 26, I took a little drive into the country to photograph Ashley and Daniel's wedding. The location was Princess Place Preserve in Bunnell, Florida. Wow- this place is gorgeous! 1500 acres located along Pellicer Creek. It is popular with equestrian enthusiasts. My 2nd shooter Jen and I were in awe of the beautiful surroundings and were quite snap-happy! The bride and groom rode in on their horses. So neat! It was the kind of wedding I love: fun and easy-going- with a great "down home, country, laid-back" vibe. There were horses. And dancing cowboys! Hello friends, family and followers! It's been quite a few months since I logged on and blogged! Go ahead- slap me on the wrist. Motherhood is quite challenging and I find myself exhausted once little man goes to bed around 8-8:30. However, my life has recently had some changes- I am now working PT and at home with my little love 2 days a week! I am LOVING this new change. I'm also loving his 2.5 hour naps in the middle of the day- which means I have a little time for myself... something every mother cherishes. One of my oldest, dearest friends is getting married! Teri and I go wayyyy back. She was my dance instructor when I was growing up, taking tap and jazz. We have had many fun times together and I'm so thrilled that she has finally met the man of her dreams! Even cooler is that I know her fiance Eric from high school. We were in chorus and musical theater together. I was so honored that they asked me to be their wedding photographer. We met up in downtown St. Augustine on a chilly January day. Something that I love is photographing a couple in love- and especially a couple that is so giddy, head over heels in love :) It truly shows in the pics. Amongst all of the craziness during my mini sessions, I was contacted by Terri who wanted a full session with me. She knew that her little one would be a typical toddler and we would need every bit of the 1-hour to capture as many good shots as possible! I met them at Alpine Groves and we had fun running around and playing. Little Peyton is just as gorgeous as can be. I was in awe of her itty-bitty Tiffany & Co jewelry! Heck, I don't even own any Tiffany jewelry. Yes, I am jealous of this child. I hope to work with this charming family again very soon! Enjoy.

Backyard session

Because I'm such a good friend (hehe) I opened up my backyard for an impromptu photo shoot with 2 of my best friends, the "2 Jenns". LOL Because I was super slammed with back-to-back mini sessions, I decided to invite them over for a quick photo shoot. I wasn't too sure how my backyard would work out- but I must say, I was pleasantly surprised and very pleased. We took advanage of my front porch, as well as our back pond and trail. Jen #1 brought her 3-yr old, 3 pugs & required football shirts for the session. It went very smoothly! We wrapped up their shoot by playing in the leaves. Jen #2 brought her adorable kiddies- 3 gorgeous girls and 1 handsome boy! They are all used to having their pic taken, so it was fairly un-eventful. There was a lot of giggling for this one! On Dec. 5, 2010 I wrapped up my Holiday Mini sessions with my final 5 families. It was another glorious day at Walter Jones Historical Park, with lots of great shots. Our good friends Mike and Bea welcomed their beautiful baby boy Steven back in the fall and I was the bad friend (and photographer) that forgot to blog about it! Shame on me. I took advantage of their gorgeous backyard and the fall afternoon light to photograph their new little family. I seriously might start hosting sessions in their backyard! :) Towards the end of their session, we allowed their furbabies to join in on the fun. I always love furbabies in photos and look how protective they are of him! So sweet! I am thrilled for them on their new addition and can't wait to see him grow up. Congrats guys!

On November 7 I hosted my 1st round of mini sessions at Walter Jones Historical Park in Mandarin. This was a new location for me and wow! I'm so glad I chose this location. It is stunning with its Oak trees, nature trails, rustic barns and white house w/ green shutters. I loved it so much that I decided to do the rest of the upcoming mini sessions here as well! Kraemer family

Last weekend I had a fun session at Guana with the Kraemer family. Michelle came to me as a referral from another client, Marie. Her family has only had studio portraits taken over the years and they really wanted a relaxed, fun, candid session on the beach- and thats where I came in! :) They were a fun and laidback family, with a spit-fire of a son and a gorgeous copper-haired daughter! They were all willing to kick off their shoes and splash around in the water which allowed for some fun and candid shots. Oh- and how gorgeous is mom and daughter with those gorgeous heads of hair? I really enjoyed photographing this family and I'm looking forward to doing Courtney's senior pictures in the spring.

Last Sunday I met up with Kristin and Ben in St. Augustine for a hot and steamy engagement session- literally! The weather here in Florida right now is just ridiculously hot, but thank goodness for the shade and the breeze coming off of the water. Kristin and Ben are such a cute couple- SO IN LOVE. She's got those piercing blue eyes and he's the cute boy next door. I knew right away that we would have a great session- they are very "kissy kissy" and needed little direction- making my job easy. I guess you could say the toughest challenge with their session was their height difference: he's 6'7 and she's 5'5!!! We had a great time and I'm excited for their wedding next fall at Orange Park Country Club.

Recently I had the joy of photographing my best friends 4th child and her 1st boy, Graham Michael. He is cute as a button and Jen is head over heels for her bundle of joy. I know that I've been MIA from the blog lately! And I have good reason. On January 20 my husband and I welcomed our first child, a beautiful baby boy! We named him Dylan Charles. So......as you can imagine, life has changed completely and its been crazy, chaotic, tiring........all of the things I knew motherhood would bring. But its been a wonderful journey so far! I love being a mama- its amazing. Little by little I'm trying to get back into my photography and blogging...... so bear with me! In December, I was contacted to do a boudoir session- wowsers! She wanted to surprise her honey with some sexy-mama photos! I was a little hesitant at first since that's not really something I specialize in, but I went ahead and accepted the job. The Blair family

First and foremost, I owe an apology to the Blair family for blogging this so late! I got caught up in the 4-day holiday weekend and just now had a chance to blog this. The Blair family is from my fall mini sessions at the park. The lovely lass in the photos is Melody, my cousin! I was so happy when Melody signed up for the mini sessions, as taking photos of family (and friends) is always fun for me. I had a good time with these guys- they are all so damn photogenic- you couldn't take a bad photo of any of them! Their son, Trent, graduated from high school this past year- I can't believe it- I can remember when he was born! He has grown into quite a handsome and accomplished young man- his parents are very proud of him. One last thing before I share the photos- Melody brought a cute and creative little sign as a "prop" for the holiday photos. "Mistletoe Kisses"- isn't it cute?? We had fun with it. Enjoy the pix!

Nadeau family

The Nadeau family was a part of my "fall mini sessions" held Nov. 15th. Marie and I go back a LOOOOOONG ways! She and I took tap and jazz dance classes together at Betty Sullivan's Theater of Dance since around age 6!! We "step ball changed" along next to each other for many years. Then, once we graduated h.s. and quit taking dance, we lost track of each other. We re-connected this year on Facebook (gottta love it!) and turns out, she is happily married w/ a baby boy that is a spitting image of her! Isn't that red hair stunning?? I love red-heads. We enjoyed the time at the park- they were very relaxed and little Jack was running around all over the place, playing in dirt, being a little boy. Enjoy!

I hosted my 1st "fall mini-sessions" at the park on Nov. 15th. I had a pretty good turnout- I was satisfied with that, since it was my 1st time. Plus, being 7 months pregnant, I wasn't sure I could handle waddling around all day and being on my feet for too long! It worked out perfectly. The day brought gorgeous weather. The only downside to that was the weather brought out hoards of people- so I really had to work around that.
Meet the Marini family. I met Jaime and Danny at a wedding (Emily and Jon's) earlier this year. I was thrilled when she emailed me after hearing about my mini sessions. They have an adorable daughter, Ava- she is absolutely gorgeous. Look at those eyes! However- she was less than thrilled to have her picture taken, as demonstrated in photo 1! But as with most toddlers, she soon loosened up and we had a lot of fun! Enjoy!

Family/ Lifestyle session

A few weeks ago, I met up in downtown St. Augustine with Jen, Keith and their adorable son. Jen wanted mostly candids and I got an idea to try my hand at my first "lifestyle session". So why not combine the two?! We had a blast, walking the cobblestone streets, finding "nooks and crannies" to explore, etc. I love how relaxed and casual this family is- at times it seemed they would forget the camera was on them! Love it! It also seems like every time I go to downtown St. Augustine, I discover a new door or wall that I fall in love with! Jen and Keith: hope you guys enjoy :) P.S. Kari + Andrew maternity

One of my best friends contacted me recently. Her good friend Kari is expecting her 1st child- a girl- in December- and she wanted to surprise her with maternity pix! Isn't that sweet? Such a great gift! I was a little nervous to take the maternity pix as it had honestly been quite some time since I had the opportunity to photograph a growing belly! But the creative juices flowed..... I met up with Kari and Andrew at one of my favorite beaches- it was a perfect October evening. Kari and Andrew are both very photogenic and they were extremely relaxed- which makes MY job a whole lot easier! :) Congrats Kari and Andrew- and I can't wait to meet your little bundle of joy!

My very good friend Carrianne is getting married next May! She was a bit un-happy with her engagement session with her wedding photographer, due to a humid day and a makeup trial-gone-awry, and so I offered up my services to go for a "round 2" with them. I absolutely love taking pictures of friends- it's low stress, no pressure and overall, just a fun time! And so a new location + beautiful subjects+ a gorgeous fall day- and I knew we were bound to come up with great images! Fall Mini Sessions!

I've decided to jump on the mini-session "bandwagon" and host my 1st mini-session! Here are the details: When- Sunday, November 15, 2009
Where- Alpine Groves Park, located off on SR 13, just south of Julington Creek.
Details- The session will last approx 20 minutes and will include an online gallery of your edited images, plus 1 8x10 of your choice. The images will be posted approx 1 week after the mini session, and from there, you can order additional prints, holiday cards, etc.
You have your choice of 2 settings at the park: a rustic, country barn that has the "old Florida" look, OR you can select the river-front, with lots of mature Oak trees and a white house w/ a quaint porch- either backdrop would be the perfect setting for your holiday cards!

Jen + Darrell's wedding

The lovely bride w/ her friends: Carrianne, me, Jen, Liz and Ashley On September 12, my best friend Jen re-married her h.s. sweetheart, Darrell, at Le Jardin on Park, in Riverside. Jen worked really hard on all the details and everything turned out so cute, from the shades of pink in their daughters' dresses, to the lovebirds on the invites, to the blue lovebirds tucked in the bouquets. It was perfect! Unfortunately, the day broughts lots and lots of rain, and the ceremony had to be held under the shelter, but no biggie! Jen, Darrell, and their guests munched on yummy comfort foods i.e. fried chicken and mashed potatoes and then danced off the calories to old-school tunes i.e. Michael Jackson and Journey. It was a great night! Congrats Jen and Darrell and hope you had a great time in Vegas!

A while back, a friend from high school, Jessica, contacted me for family pictures. She and her family had been living in England and Scotland for the last few years and they were overdue on having updated pix. I couldn't wait for it! I had seen her 2 cuties in pictures on Facebook and couldn't wait to capture them myself! After 2 attempts to schedule (rain!!!) we finally met up at the beach for a fun, casual, laid-back session. I fell in love with her children! Little Emily has those absolutely spell binding eyes and the perfect Shirley Temple curls. And Jack was so full of life and energy and kept me laughing as well as challenged me! By the end of the shoot, we were all completly drenched from the ocean waves- good times! On Sunday, I met up with Michelle and Eddie to photograph their 7-week old cutie, baby Mark. We met at a private residence in Avondale to do a few outdoors shots- unfortunately it was sweltering hot and muggy after an afternoon rainstorm, so Mark was a bit fussy. Understandably! We moved the session indoors to try and resume and capture those adorable "sleeping baby" images. Well, the little guy worked with me for a short while, but soon after, it was "get that camera out of my face- I'm not ready to sleep yet"! Little stinker! Any photographer will tell you that a newborn session is the most challenging of all! But overall, we got some cute shots and I hope Michelle and Eddie will enjoy!

My very best friend Jen is tying the knot.... again! She married her h.s. sweetheart Darrell shortly after they graduated h.s. and they celebrated 10 years of marriage and produced 3 adorable little girls. Like any marriage, they had some ups and downs and parted ways for a while. However, they were re-united last year and are tying the knot again! They truly are meant to be together!
Last Sunday, they came down to "my neck of the woods" in St. Augustine for a fun engagement session. This was something they didn't do the 1st time around and were very excited for it! And I was honored to capture it! We had fun roaming around the Mission Grounds and downtown St. Augustine. These 2 had me cracking up all afternoon! On Friday evening, June 19th I met up with my favorite photo client, Nichole, her baby Barron and her stepdaughter for a photo session. Nichole has hired me on many, many occasions, which I am so grateful for! This was our 1st session at the beach. Shame on me for not checking the tides, because the water was very high & not much beach. :( Nichole was freaked out a little! But we had a great time! After 30 minutes or so, we were joined by Nichole's sister in law and her beautiful daughters. All of the kids got together for a photo session. The lighting became very pretty around dusk and we got some very nice shots. Enjoy!

On Sunday, June 14th I photographed Tracee and Nick's wedding at The Winterbourne Inn in Orange Park. Tracee contacted me thru Myspace a few weeks prior and was referred to me by one of my previous brides, Ashley. We didn't have time for an engagement shoot so Tracee and I met up one evening at Panera to chat and get comfortable with one another. I spent a good hour with her while she gave me all the great details of their big day to come! I could really see the enthusiasm in her and how incredibly excited she was to marry Nick. I LOVE a giddy bride and she was giddy and she glowed!
Their wedding was held at Winterbourne Inn, a 2-story Victorian house with lots of character and charm. It's also located right on the St. Johns River- so what more could you ask for??? I really, really enjoyed capturing the memories of Tracee and Nick's big day. This couple is so "crazy in love" with each other and it shows thru in the photographs! They were also so willing to do whatever poses I asked of them- and they "worked it" like rock stars for me! Congrats to you guys, and I hope you had fun in The Keys!

Emily + Jon's Wedding

On May 23rd, I photographed Emily and Jon's elegant wedding at The San Marco Preservation Hall. The week of their wedding, we were dealing with NASTY weather- rain for 6 days straight! I was beginning to get pretty nervous! The morning of... we awoke to MORE rain. However, the rain gods were smiling down on Emily and Jon, because it stopped raining a few hours before their ceremony! YAY! This was my 1st wedding at The San Marco Preservation Hall and it is a quaint and intimate venue, perfect for a smaller wedding. Emily and Jon chose to see each other prior to the ceremony, so we had plenty of time for some romantic shots. :) After their candlelight ceremony, we all boogied down to St. Augustine for their seated dinner at one of my fav haunts, "95 Cordova" located in the Casa Monica Hotel. It was a beautiful day! Congrats to Emily and Jon! Hope you are enjoying your honeymoon in California and Las Vegas!

On Saturday, I photographed the 1st birthday party for Aiden. This little guy and his big blue eyes are such a joy to photograph! On Sunday, I met up with Emily and Jon in San Marco for their engagement session. This was my 1st time meeting them; they are such a cute couple & you can tell they have a lot of fun together. Emily had lots of great ideas- she wanted old buildings & funky walls as their background. On April 4th, Lauren and Ryan were married at The Oldest House Gardens in St. Augustine. The week leading up to the wedding- well, everyone was feeling quite anxious as we had horrendous weather! But the weather on their big day- more than cooperated! It was gorgeous! This was my 1st wedding (and first visit!) to The Oldest House Gardens and I must say: I was very impressed. I was just so in love with the cobblestone & brick pathways, mature trees & architecture of the historic buildings. It was a photographers dream! I could have spent another hour taking pictures there. After the wedding, the reception followed at A1A Aleworks. This was definitely a fun group and they hit the dance floor & really had a great time. I especially enjoyed watching Ryan's grandmother boogey down! :) Here are a few of my favs from the day- enjoy! Had to throw this one in here- this is my dad on his beloved John Deere Spring is officially here! My cousin Chrissy (who is like a little sister to me) and her 2-year old cutie, Mary, came for a visit for the weekend. On Saturday, we had a family get-together at my parents house and I took advantage of the magnificent pink azaleas that are in full bloom in my parents backyard. Mary had a great time playing in the flowers and I enjoyed following her around w/ the camera :) I never realized how great my parents backyard is for photo sessions, with their mature trees, huge azalea bushes, rustic shed & swing and of course, my dad's vintage John Deere tractor! On Sunday afternoon, I ventured out to downtown St. Augustine with Lauren and Ryan for an engagement session. On Saturday I met up with this family for a photo session at Guana beach. I was pretty nervous on the drive out there as I was watching the clouds build up in the sky! I have been taking Barron's pictures since he was just a newborn! You may remember him in the cute Santa hat last year?! His mom Nichole asked me to photograph his 1st birthday festivities last Saturday at Losco Park- it was a hot September day but we were lucky to have quite a breeze... well.....I was lucky to have the breeze but some of the decorations didn't make it! A few balloons ended up in the trees! Jaxon De-ville made an appearance which made for great photo opps! And Miss Bubbles was there, too with her cool bubble machine. The kids had a great time and Barron ended the day with his baseball cake- he was not too sure about it and wasn't crazy about getting messy! Here are a few pix!
